I had an interesting conversation with a new friend, Indian gentlemen.

He started lifting weights a year ago, was amazed at the changes in identity, confidence, performance. Realized that he'd been selling himself short all the years prior.

He noted that in Indian culture, only intellect and academic performance are prized (similar to jews). Most men resign themselves to being chubby, soft bodied, and just accept this as normal. He did not accept this, and realized he had untapped potential.

The modern Indian Diet, reinforced by the culture, is the perfect setup to get skinny fat.

It's just low protein and has carbohydrates as the main calorie source. And then you fry as many of the foods as possible.

Guaranteed you’ll get overly fat with stubborn fat stores, low lean body mass, and high systemic inflammation.

They don't get enough protein because they don't eat enough meat. The religious taboo on Beef doesn't help. And most people are vegetarians too. They rely on Dhaal (lentils) and diary (curd, paneer) to get their protein, which are both insufficient and poor forms of protein.

They talk about wheat being healthier than maida, but ignoring the big picture fact that they are all carbs and they eat a boatload of carbs in every meal. Roti, Naan, Kulcha, Paratha, Idli, Dosa, Chappathi, Poori etc.

They throw the yolk from the eggs thinking it's unhealthy, but deep fry anything and everything on vegetable oil, ghee and butter.

Throw in a hundred variety of sweets, made predominantly from sugar, diary and grains. Gulab Jamun, Rasgulla, Halwa, Mysore Pak, Ras malai etc.

What do you get as a result? The typical Indian Skinny fat dude, he may be smart and intelligent, and have a way with numbers. But he's small and weak. And is clueless with girls.

(How do I know so much about Indians? I lived there for 6 months to train bollywood actor Madhavan for a movie role. I've seen every Indian stereotype.)
